Midlands EMS currently has a vacancy for a prospective candidate to join our team.

The successful candidate will be rewarded with a market related salary and an opportunity to work in a rewarding environment

Areas of Responsibility

  • Responding to emergency calls, providing appropriate patient treatment in line with BLS HPCSA guidelines and transportation to an appropriate facility 
  • Undertaking of Inter Facility Transfers requiring BLS scope of treatment/Intervention.  
  • Administrative and documentation completion as required by business 
  • Client / Informal Network Interaction
  • Participate in marketing / public relations initiatives 
  • Participate in legislative compliance and quality assurance audits 
  • Participation in Continuous Medical Education and skills update initiatives as required 

Required Competencies and Abilities 

  • Ability to work in a target driven environment
  • Problem solving ability whilst under pressure in stressful situations 
  • Possess good communication skills and ability to maintain relationships
  • Must possess a good command of the English Language – Written, verbal and comprehension
  • Computer literacy and experience in Microsoft Word/Excel and email application packages will be an added advantage

Job Requirements 

  • Appropriate Qualification – Basic Ambulance Assistant Qualification 
  • Valid registration with the HPCSA for the current year 
  • Drivers Licence: Minimum Code B (No Endorsements) with a Professional Drivers Permit for Passengers and Goods. 
  • All CPD points as required by HPCSA to be up to date
  • Proof of new CPG Updates will be considered as an advantage
